In addition to our beautiful array of natural stone solutions, DiVerde has created an innovative engineered stone product called DiVerde Stone™—a combination of technological advances, artistic innovation, and natural elements. Although it is made almost entirely of natural products, it is superior to natural stone in almost every way.
A typical engineered stone slab contains 94% quartz, with the remainder coming from resin and pigments. Thanks to an isomeric polymerization and vacuum sealing process, engineered stone can maintain a bright, smooth surface while retaining a resistance to absorption, heat, and abrasion not found in natural stone. No wonder, then, that engineered stone countertops have become such a popular alternative to marble. Within the DiVerde Engineered Stone™ Series you’ll find some of the most beautiful engineered stone products available anywhere in the world.
The Advantages of DiVerde Stone™ Vs. Natural Stone
In comparison to natural stone, DiVerde Stone™ quartz enjoys the following advantages:
- Strong – Engineered stone is much stronger than granite—it has 5.5 x's higher flexural strength than natural stone.
- Stain-resistant – It is naturally stain resistant, which means that it does not need to be sealed or polished and requires very little maintenance
- Scratch-resistant – Made up almost entirely of quartz, engineered stone is very durable and stands up to every day use and abuse. (click for MOHS scale)
- Heat-resistant – Engineered stone is able to withstand heats used in everyday living.
- Mold-and-Mildew-resistant – Since it is not porous, engineered stone does not retain moisture necessary for mold or mildew to build up.
- Radon-free – Recent tests confirm that engineered stone is a safer, radon-free countertop alternative.
